LG says the owner's manual states the filter model, that the model number is usually printed on the filter itself, and that its filter finder takes the refrigerator model number from the sticker inside the fridge. (LG USA: How to find the correct LG refrigerator filter for your model, read 2026-10-08.) Match that number, not the look of the cartridge.
Is it certified? What the listing says
The LG LT500P and the certified replacements below, from the certifiers' public listings. A ✓ under Lead claim means the NSF/ANSI 53 claim set names lead reduction; NSF/ANSI 401 is never read as a PFAS claim.

LT500P: NSF lists it under NSF/ANSI 42 only: chlorine, particulate and taste and odour. NSF's listed service cycle is 500 gallons, while LG's own page states 200 gallons. It holds no NSF/ANSI 53 listing, so it has no certified lead claim. Source: NSF listing, LG Electronics, read 2026-10-08.
What the maker states: LG's page states NSF42 only, a 200-gallon capacity and a 6-month interval. (LG USA, LT500P product page, read 2026-10-08.) A maker's statement is not a listing; the table above follows the listing.
Waterdrop: NSF lists these under Qingdao Ecopure Filter Co. as Waterdrop EFF-6005S (NSF listing, Qingdao Ecopure Filter (Waterdrop), read 2026-10-08). Waterdrop's plain WD-F05 is listed for NSF/ANSI 42 only. The WDS and WDP versions carry the NSF/ANSI 53 lead claim. Read the letters before WD on the box. A model with no Amazon link here is one we have not matched to an Amazon listing.
Genuine, certified replacement, or fake?
NSF's listing for LG Electronics shows the genuine part as GEN11042FR-08, sold as GEN11042FR-08 LT500P LT500PC LT500PCS. A filter that copies the LT500P shape and prints "NSF certified" is only certified if its own model number is in a certifier's listing. Search the listing for the number on the filter, not the logo on the box. A certified replacement is not a counterfeit; an unlisted one is an unknown at any price. How counterfeits are caught and what to check: fake refrigerator water filters.
